Having been very impressed with the initial demo from SFD I decided it was time to change. I can honestly say, I cannot believe how easy this has been. The full day training provided by David was very informative and gave a great overview of the system. David was with us the following day when we went live with the new system which was invaluable.

Initial problems were dealt with straight away. Yes, there have been some further issues and teething problems, but this is dealt with promptly by the staff.

The support is excellent and they address your concern or query straight away. I am still continuing to learn to use the system, but the integration it provides is excellent. I can save patient images, letters, emails and itero scans all in one place. I didn't realise how much my old system was lacking until I began to use SFD.

I can highly recommend SfD, who have provided an excellent dental software program and continually provided excellent support.

The SfD software is easy to use and the comprehensive dental program has become essential for our practice. The appointment book is well laid out and easy to use. The charting is quick and easy and even the most technophobic at the practice have grasped this and all aspects of the program with ease.

Treatment planning is easy, and we have found the ease of printing out NHS and private treatment plans extremely valuable. It is also great that SFD have been able to link its program with our digital radiography software.

I have worked with several dental software systems in the past, and compared with the other main software systems, SFD is by far the best. It is simple and can handle all NHS claims as well as private treatments.

The dentists like it because the planning is simple and the recording of clinical notes is easy. The linked radiographs are great and the writing of referral letters is simple.

The nurses like it because the charting is so quick and easy and the quick-notes help clinical note recording, and the treatment planning process is so simple.

The receptionists like it because it's so easy to find and make appointments, and it is easy to take payments.

The managers like it because we can monitor UDAs and schedules, accounts and payments; and we can do reports on FTAs, outstanding accounts, and open courses of treatment among other performance enhancing tools etc.

In summary, SFD is fantastic because the software is great and loved by the whole dental team and the support during installation and throughout is superb. Try it and see for yourself, you won't regret it.

I needed a new dental software system to replace my very basic existing dental software and to bring me into the 21st century.

While researching all the major players in the market I came across SfD.

They remotely downloaded a trial version onto my PC with some of my own patient data for me to trial. The software is really simple and intuitive to use, which was a major factor in my decision, and yet it does everything and more that the other providers offer.

The software is extremely user friendly and the whole team picked it up very quickly.

The install was done very efficiently within the time frame advised, with all our patient data fully converted to the new system.

I have had system installs at other practices I've worked in, and this was the most personalised and thorough, with very knowledgeable guys who will set everything up exactly as you want it.

We had a full day of training, and then a go live day with a light book of patients the next day. The training was fantastic and it meant that everyone in the team felt confident with the system early on.

What really sets SFD apart from other software providers is customer service which is second to none. There is a great bunch of people at SFD all of which are extremely helpful. Calls are answered promptly and issues are dealt with immediately. Nothing (within reason) seems to be too much trouble and on occasion support has even been given out of hours. All this makes the staff at SFD really feel part of an extended practice IT team!

We have been running this software since 2009 with no issues. The software is easy to use and does everything you would expect from it. The best bit of all is that you can request your own amendments. As long as the suggestion is a good idea (or enough other customers suggest a similar idea), then the software is usually altered within a couple of months via one of the regular automatic updates.

SFD is a superb product and anyone looking to change software provider should seriously consider what SFD have to offer.

We chose System for Dentists to move from a 40-year old paper cards and appointment diary system to a computerised practice. None of the staff were previously used to having computers at work and the project was daunting in this regard. I am happy to say that in the three months since we installed, we have successfully moved most of the practice record keeping and patient administration processes from paper to screen with only mild inconvenience and time used. We went for a staged approach, which I would recommend to anyone making this sort of move, starting by opening "empty" patient records and using them to populate the appointment book. Once all future appointments (six months worth!) were moved to the system, we started using SFD to take clinical charts, and then clinical records. We are also using spare staff time to scan the old paper cards into the system. Now we are also using SFD to log financial transactions and invoice patients. We hope to start recalling patients using SFD in the next month. The logical and easy interface of SFD has helped our staff get to grips with computerisation in a stress-free manner.

Since installing System for Dentists our appointment time utilisation has improved because the on-screen diary shows available and used time more effectively than a paper diary. The "on-hold" feature is highly valued by our reception because it allows them to retain needed appointments until a time when they can be re-booked. This is particularly handy if the dentists need to chop and change their hours at short notice. We like the periodontal charts which can be pasted into reports to our referring dentists, and the inbuilt wordprocessor has done away with folder after folder of patient correspondence - everything now goes into one place. Note-writing is made more tidy, and if set up property with prefabricated frameworks - gets quicker.

We have yet to realise the full benefit of our investment in SFD, but I can already safely say it was worthwhile from one simple measure: I spend less time in the practice doing my administration after the last patient has left!
