The general setup is accessed through:
Setup > System > Patient Portal
A number of settings allow for inheritance, meaning you set in this screen and the values pass to each practice in the database. Each practice can override and set as required.
Used in the web or app as link to your home page.
- Cancellation up to
Period of time up to which the patient can cancel via web or app.
- Maximum appointments
Limits the number of concurrent appointments a patient may have (see security).
- Limit on balance
Set to disallow patients owing the practice money from booking, unless “Ignore if in treatment” is set.
- Allow booking with any dentist
Limits the patient to only booking with “registered” dentist.
- Allow booking with any hygienist
Limits the patient to only booking with “registered” hygienist.
When a patient books or cancels an appointment, the system will automatically send out an email or SMS confirmation, select the appropriate templates.

The text displayed within web or app to describe your practice.
The practice setup is accessed through:
Setup > System > Practice > Patient Portal
The “Patient Portal” tab allow the overriding of the “inherited” settings for the selected practice.
The appointments available for booking via web or app are determined by session types, and the "Web Appointment" option:
Setup > Appointment > Session Types
The appointments reasons available for booking via web or app allow each user to choose if available for booking, and duration required. Each reason also allows a fee to be required for each scheme based on existing patient, or new sign up.

Patients who register that are new, or are unable to autoatically be matched are presented in the Patient Portal Signup page. Updates are shown by a flashing icon.
